Cook your own doughnuts! Store the dough in the freezer to cook at home.
The afternoon/night before you’re wanting to fry your doughnuts, place them evenly spread (remember they’ll double in size so give some space) on a floured baking tray. Place a bag over the tray and put the tray in the fridge to defrost and slightly prove.
The morning after, take the doughnuts out of the fridge 1.5 hours before and, whilst still placed inside the bag, leave in a warm area for 1 hour, then take the bag off and leave for another 30 minutes.
Once doubled in size, pre heat your fryer or some vegetable oil in a saucepan to 165c. Once ready, pick up your doughnuts and carefully drop them into the oil.
After about 90 seconds, use a pair of tongs or a butter knife to flip the doughnuts and fry for another 90 seconds (or until golden brown) on the other side.
Use a pair of tongs to remove the doughnuts from the fryer onto some paper towel.
Allow to cool slightly, then roll in sugar and fill with jam or any other filling you might like to use.
